Help prevent losses from hurricanes and summer storms
HSB shares tips to protect equipment and vital services
An active hurricane season is predicted for 2018. Now is the time to get ready and don’t forget your equipment as you make plans to protect your property during summer storms.
High winds, heavy rain
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) expects that five to nine storms could become hurricanes during the Atlantic hurricane season June through November. One to four hurricanes could reach major hurricane strength of winds exceeding 110 mph.
AC breakdowns often occur upon startup
In fact, the primary reason for the air conditioning failures that we see is poor preventive maintenance prior to the equipment being started up.
It doesn’t take a hurricane to cause extensive damage to a home or business, however, as thunderstorms and other severe weather events can cause high winds, local flooding and the loss of power.
